The 13 Turpin siblings were discovered in 2018 when then-17-year-old Jordan Turpin escaped through a window in their Perris, California, home and called 911. The siblings, then ranging from 2 to 29 years old, were badly malnourished, allowed just one shower a year and sometimes chained to a bed or caged for weeks at a time. Their parents, David and Louise Turpin, were sentenced to 25 years to life for their crimes against the children.
Since escaping their parents control, however, life has been brutally difficult for the Turpins. According to an ABC News report in November 2021, although $600,000 in donations poured in for the Turpin siblings, they havent been able to access the money. At least two of the adult children have experienced homelessness.

Now, court documents have accused a Perris family of abusing nine foster children, reportedly among them five members of the Turpin family.
Marcelino Camacho Olguin, 63, Rosa Armida Olguin, 58, and Lennys Giovanna Olguin, 37, were charged with child cruelty, false imprisonment and witness intimidation. Marcelino Olguin has also been charged with lewd acts on a child under 14 years old.
Four girls, whose identities have been withheld for privacy reasons, were sexually assaulted by Marcelino Olguin between April 2018 and March 2021, court documents allege.

Marcelino Olguin was additionally charged with multiple counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 years old.
The trio was arraigned before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Sean Crandell, who scheduled a felony settlement conference for June 6 at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
Marcelino Olguin is free on a $200,000 bond, while Rosa and Lennys Olguin are each free on $50,000 bail

(10,008 posts)but NOBODY, should be allowed to have nine foster children at the same time unless those children are siblings, and even then, they should be closely monitored...very closely. No excuses. The children should be interviewed. separately and away from the foster family if necessary, if there is even a suspicion of wrongdoing on the part of the foster parents. People who have large numbers of foster kids at once tend to be predators of some kind. Ask me how I know (although my experience is anecdotal).

(10,008 posts)I had a friend (now deceased) who was an emergency foster parent. She had had, at one time when I knew her, 42 foster babies, but not all at once! And more later. She kept the crib set up at her home. She ended up adopting one of them who was the same age as her (surprise) youngest...she had 3 of her own.

(10,008 posts)unless they are siblings, and only under the condition that the siblings are checked on frequently by DHS/CPS or whatever it's called in the state.
