(45,545 posts)since their good lies are always found out, and they keep on lying knowing their people will keep spreading it. They go with saturation knowing that fewer people will notice any corrections or care if it's debunked.

My reasoning is that the OP received a lot of blowback from people who are not so keen on giving up iA.
As Thomas Jefferson, referring to the University of Virginia, tweeted from his iPhone the other day:

And good morning.

And more accurately, Murdoch renounced his Australian citizenship when he obtained US citizenship.

Disappointing when seems there is a certain acceptance of the GW Bush principle of "truthiness." But this one goes further and was just flat out manufactured lie.

I understand how easy it can be to fall for BS. There is so much of it in circulation now, one has to spend more time researching an article that reading the article itself.
The difference is owning it and scrubbing it when it's found out.
I've probably gone too far the other direction as I won't believe anything I read until I spend the time on it, most especially twitter links.

ETA: Pleasantly surprised that there are only a couple saying the kinds of things I've seen said in other threds like this one.

(10,435 posts)is at work and will fix it next time they check in. Not everyone monitors this site 24/7 to immediately jump right on what others want.
In any case, the sentiment is not inaccurate. Murdoch media has done incredible damage to politics and civil society. Fox "NewZ" was removed in Canada for violating the law requiring news media to not lie. So it's not a stretch to think New Zealand may have done the same.
Actually it reminds me of this one that went around a few years ago
It also turned out not to be an actual quote. But it definitely does accurately describe republicon voters and sounds like something MF45 would say.
