Trump Blames Pelosi for Capitol Riots
April 7, 2022 at 6:39 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

“Former president Donald Trump voiced regret Wednesday over not marching to the U.S. Capitol the day his supporters stormed the building, and he defended his long silence during the attack by claiming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others were responsible for ending the deadly violence,” the Washington Post reports.

Said Trump: “I thought it was a shame, and I kept asking why isn’t she doing something about it? Why isn’t Nancy Pelosi doing something about it? And the mayor of D.C. also. The mayor of D.C. and Nancy Pelosi are in charge.”

He added: “I hated seeing it. I hated seeing it. And I said, ‘It’s got to be taken care of,’ and I assumed they were taking care of it.”

separately but where Ivanaka could not talk to Jared about his testimony before the testimony of her own. Have a hard time thinking that those willingly testifying do so in a manner to lessen the crimes and make the action less premeditated and in concert.

Wish the prosecution of the Jan 6 disrupters to be fast and straightforward and include higher ups directing and financing operations.

Hope those convicted accept the punishment and learn rather than be further radicalization or at least be less nut bag.

stormed the Capitol. You know the ones that he incited in the first place. And artfully shifting the blame to others as he plays his characteristic i'm innocent act.

I wouldn't be surprised if he rehearsed this excuse with Ivanka, Jared & Meadows so they are all spewing the same crap.

You got to ask him why then was he getting the calls by Repugs in the Capitol to call it off. To make statements to the rioters.

Those Repugs knew he was in charge.

Get that mother fucker on a witness stand and grill his ass under oath. He's not president anymore, why can't they do this?

Garland and the Dems need to stop effing around with this because if the Repukes get the House back, they will kill any more investigations.

What's so sacred about a president - particularly a former president - that he can't be subject to criminal investigations, be indicted and held accountable?

If a person committed a crime they should be held accountable - no matter if that person was a president or not. And as you said - he's not the president anymore.

When you think of it - I don't know of any president other than Nixon - that might have even come close to all the laws that TFG manipulated or broke.

When you compare TFG to what Nixon was accused of and resigned for - what Nixon did was small time in comparison.

In my mind - one would want to indict and jail a president (any president) that committed crimes - if only just to dissuade others in the future from even attempting anything like what TFG has been party to.

Just like he ignores the fact that there's another house of Congress occupying that building, which was, at the time, controlled by his shitbag party. Always blame the Democrat, especially if it's a woman or a black person, for your own crimes. Same shit, different day. And, his cult followers slurp it up like it was Dom Perignon and prime rib, and not the shit sandwiches he has been feeding them all along.

Pentagon placed limits on D.C. Guard ahead of pro-Trump protests due to narrow mission

By Paul Sonne, Peter Hermann and Missy Ryan
Washington Post, Jan. 7, 2021 at 9:43 p.m. EST

The Pentagon placed tight limits on the D.C. National Guard ahead of pro-Trump protests this week, trying to ensure the use of military force remained constrained, as the Guard carried out a narrow, unarmed mission requested by the city’s mayor to help handle traffic ahead of planned protests.

In memos issued Monday and Tuesday in response to a request from the D.C. mayor, the Pentagon prohibited the District’s guardsmen from receiving ammunition or riot gear, interacting with protesters unless necessary for self-defense, sharing equipment with local law enforcement, or using Guard surveillance and air assets without the defense secretary’s explicit sign-off, according to officials familiar with the orders. The limits were established because the Guard hadn’t been asked to assist with crowd or riot control.

The D.C. Guard was also told it would be allowed to deploy a quick-reaction force only as a measure of last resort, the officials said.

Then the mission abruptly changed — and the Pentagon is now facing criticism from governors and local officials who say it moved too slowly to send National Guard troops to respond, a charge that its leaders denied Thursday.

Also, the former guy's "regret" that he didn't march with the mob he turned loose is laughable. That fucker couldn't even walk 700 yards on the centenary observance of the end of World War I.

28. TFG made some amazing and dumb admissions in this interview
Thu Apr 7, 2022, 11:46 AM
Apr 2022

TFG keeps on making admissions that would drive any first rate attorney nuts which is why TFG has been relegated to using shopping center lawyers. Hint-if a lawyers office is in a shopping center, they are NOT a top rated lawyer. TFG just admitted to the Washington Post that he talked to McCarthy, Gym Jordan and others on Jan. 6 (despite a lack of phone logs concerning these calls). These statements are admissions that AG Garland can use

Confessing to illegal conduct does not make such conduct legal

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/04/07/trump-interview-jan-6-pressure-garland/

A central feature of Trump’s corruption is that he sometimes confesses to it in public. In this circular wizardry, Trump’s conduct can’t possibly be corrupt if he’s so eager to cop to it openly.

Here Trump appears to blithely confirm he spoke to lawmakers during the insurrection, and suggests there was nothing wrong with those calls. Presto! All wrongdoing goes poof!.....

“The key is to understand Trump’s communications about whether he intended to disrupt the electoral count through the weaponization of the rioters,” NYU law professor Ryan Goodman, who has deeply researched the insurrection’s timeline, told me.

“It’s important to know whether Trump made statements pressuring members of Congress to delay certification while the violence was going on,” Goodman said. “It could satisfy a key element of the criminal statute, which requires prosecutors to prove he was corruptly motivated in his actions.”

If TFG has engaged a criminal defense attorney, that attorney would not be happy with the Washington Post interview
