My oldest great aunt (paternal) was the second

Black woman (Afro-Caribbean) to be called to the bar in a particular US state.
Yes, there are several legal folks in the generations (not me).
Today, on behalf of those absent and present, we all celebrate the appointment of SCJ Ketanji Brown-Jackson.😃✌️

Barkeep said pay my tab or I’d get tossed to the curb.

Seriously, it’s the accomplishments of good people like your great-aunt who paved the way for SCJ Ketanji Brown-Jackson.

The Garvey movement and the Harlem Renaissance deserve mention.

It's always a happy day when RW heads explode! And you just know they are.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This country will be better off when we get more women in positions of power. (Dems of course)

I commented that some artists just OWN certain songs. "Georgia on my Mind" belongs to Ray Charles. Nobody will ever do "The Thrill is Gone" like BB King. This one is hers.
