Today, we saw why EVERY. VOTE. MATTERS.

Huge congrats to USSC Justice Brown Jackson on her historic confirmation to the highest court in the land.

I loved her nomination by President Biden. Thank you, Joe!!!

I'm fucking disgusted by the RACIST GQP's near-unanimous opposition to her confirmation.

However, I thank the few Republicans that joined us and voted for her confirmation.

Her confirmation is the result of our Democratic Party's razor thin majorities. (Senate Majority for her confirmation)

We can now clearly see the importance of every vote.

High voter turnout helps the Democratic Party.

I wasn't born with enough middle fingers for the RACIST Republicans that opposed her confirmation on this historic day.

Very cool reply! Thanks.

I absolutely love the pic with "Glory to Ukraine"

I just sat and stared at that pic for a few and wondered what the people of Ukraine are going through right now. I wish I knew of some way to protect them from Vlad the Terrible.

I remind myself..

We have a great leader in Joe Biden. I am loving his strategy. Diplomacy, Sanctions and a nice aid package to Ukraine.

Anyway, I am so happy for our newest USSC Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and for President Biden. Confirming a USSC judge is a huge achievement for a president.

Major congrats to Justice Brown Jackson and President Biden!!

But they voted "Nay" anyway, just because.

I think there were at least some Repukes who would have voted "Aye" if they thought she needed the extra votes. Don't be misled by this, it was all a show for the voters at home watching TV.

It's been clear from the get-go that Judge Jackson is a worthy candidate for the SCOTUS bench.

at the SCOTUS confirmation hearings to pander to the base actually altered my thinking about how incredibly stupid their constituents are to believe what they are hearing. This country has a tremendous number of BatShitCrazedLoons running around.

The ONLY way to change things is to WIN.
This is from the epilogue of "Stamped From the Beginning", by Ibram X Kendi.
He talks about racism here, but racism is at the heart of all the reptilicans do. It's their engine.
Emphasis mine:

Protesting against racist power and succeeding can never be mistaken for seizing power. Any effective solution to eradicating American racism must involve Americans committed to antiracist policies seizing and maintaining power over institutions, neighborhoods, counties, states, nations—the world. It makes no sense to sit back and put the future in the hands of people committed to racist policies, or people who regularly sail with the wind of self-interest, toward racism today, toward antiracism tomorrow. An antiracist America can only be guaranteed if principled antiracists are in power, and then antiracist policies become the law of the land, and then antiracist ideas become the common sense of the people, and then the antiracist common sense of the people holds those antiracist leaders and policies accountable.
