States With Strictest Abortion Laws Are Hardest Places To Raise Children

Is it any wonder as to why? Low taxes equals low quality of life for many working poor who will no longer have access to reproductive care, let alone prenatal care, and overall care once a child is born due to low wages. Makes one mad as hell that this happens in the richest country in the world.

Source:Huff Post

An analysis by the Associated Press found that states with the most severe abortion laws have some of the weakest social programs in the country.

The findings raise questions about the strength of the social safety net as those states are poised to further restrict or even ban abortion access following an expected U.S. Supreme Court decision later this year. The burden is likely to fall heaviest on those with low incomes, who also are the least able to seek an abortion in another state where the procedure remains widely available.

Mississippi has the nation’s largest share of children living in poverty and babies with low birth weights, according to 2019 data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Centers for Disease Control, the latest available. Texas has the highest rate of women receiving no prenatal care during their first trimester and ranks second worst for the proportion of children in poverty who are uninsured, the data show.

Laws from both states are at the center of the nationwide fight over abortion access. The Supreme Court’s conservative majority signaled willingness in a Mississippi case to gut or strike down Roe v. Wade.

These red states are going to drive themselves to bankruptcy in 10-15 years.

I hope they enjoy paying taxes.

Think because of eve women are to suffer in childbirth and suffer raising children in other words suffering brood mares. Owned by men and to willingly accept thier god ordained inferiority suffering and to submit to men .
"Pro life " is one way to force this to happen to women. Relaxing rape laws, making birth control illegal or impossibleb, domestic violence laws (how else can you break a willful woman without beating her into subjugation)all of it plays into how they interpret christianity they say they believe, nah they are dark triads.

However they cant read thier bible without certain edits because jesus does not want to rule this world. His kingdom is not of this world. But they want jesus to make it his world .

So these dominionist fools are hoping jesus will come back and be the ultimate supernatural eeeevvvill slaughtering "strongman" killing in blood horse bridle deep.. and they love the idea of being priests and kings blessed of this supernatural tyrant because they get to smite people they call sinners with rods of iron for all eternity and watching through heaven's transparent gold floors all the sinners being tortured forever. A sociopaths wet dream.

To the christofacists its all about the power and abuse.

Hell if a baby dies before the sinning age it gets a one way ticket to heaven, another jewel in some assholes crown.

4. Is it possible they want to force poor women into giving up children for adoption?

Do we have a an over abundance of people who are clamoring to adopt children? I thought advances in fertility had driven down the demand for adoption?

It's just odd to me that having a proliferation of poor children would be attractive to any state.

We need a constutional amendment that requires states to provide a minimum income to all citizens. Kids included.

A lot of these Dominionist groups like to adopt out kids into quiverfull families to raise little warriors for God. They'll even go out of their way to help the mother or parents if they seem receptive, bring them into the fold if they can.
They don't really care about the kids, they're worried about being out-voted or "replaced".
As for children of other races or non-Christians (as they define Christian), well those babies can be used to drag down parents who can't afford half a dozen kids, and keep those families in poverty.

There will be many dire unintended consequences that come about in states with the cristofacist abortion laws.

5. I would really like to know how they think (or have they?) these draconinan abortion laws are going

to play out over the long term? It is going to be a societal nightmare and if they think things are bad now, wait until millions of unwanted children are brought into the world, born to mothers who can not financially, physically or emotionally care for them.

So fucking stupid.

We already have a shortage of teachers. Assuming Republicans haven't ended public education, what will schools do?

There will be many bad unintended consequences.

10. They are red states, whose voters don't like to pay taxes

And whose voters are anti-abortion.

The abortion issue is always about "getting votes" of the evangelical community. (In the Republican Primary) The actual care of the children is not considered.

They lawmakers themselves are not "pro-life". They are pandering to evangelicals.

Also, they can get away with this because their states are so red that they don't need to worry.
In Texas, the November Election is determined by the Republican Primary.
