The Washington Post Pushes Trump Candidacy By Hyping Fake Health Drama
The Washington Post built on their shadow campaign for Trump in 2024 by interviewing Trump and allowing him to say he may not run due to health.
The Washington Post did an interview with Trump where they let him manufacture some reality show style drama:
You always have to talk about health. You look like youre in good health, but tomorrow, you get a letter from a doctor saying come see me again. Thats not good when they use the word again, he said.

I dont want to comment on running, but I think a lot of people are going to be very happy by my decision, he said, adding: Because its a little boring now.
Why Was The Washington Post Interviewing Trump?
What has Donald Trump done that is relevant to the current news cycle? Trump is not an elected official or an announced candidate for president. Even his comments on current events dont deserve a full interview in one of the top newspapers in the country.
The Washington Post isnt interviewing Barack Obama and George W. Bush and getting their thoughts on the events of the day. Obama does candidate endorsements in every cycle, but no one is sitting down with him.
The Post let Trump spin lies about the 1/6 attack and mostly played the role of a stenographer.
Trump is under criminal investigation in multiple states, but instead of an interview focused on those very real issues, readers were given Trump attempting to create reality show-style drama about whether or not he will run.
The Washington Post is moving right, and a fluff interview with Trump was a great way to give a platform to someone who tried to overthrow the government and will look to do so again in 2024.

(6,265 posts)is at this time in history an openly hostile tool of the RW and WE are the enemy. "For What It's Worth" was 1/6/21 and "War" seems to be shaping up in this country...openly and viciously.

(36,464 posts)Either they think that we won't fall into authoritarianism, cuz you know, "the guardrails of democracy held" last time so surely they will again. Or, they think it will be business as usual under an authoritarian regime. Either way, they are risking our democracy for ratings.

(nb: nothing in the interview suggests a bias on the part of the Washington Post).

(171,065 posts)He lies constantly; no one ever knows if he's telling the truth or if he ever does. So I do wish the WaPo would find someone with an iota of credibility if they must go down this road.

Normalizing psycho-sociopaths as legitimate leaders in this country by the press should be made patently clear how dangerous it is and obviously worthy of condemnation.
I should think it would be for you too, but hey..obviously you see things differently.

(7,282 posts)We have more than enough on a day to day to day to day of their "thinking", strategy and tactics fed to cable consumers 24/7 365 as well as their clown shows in congress, in each Red state legislators governors etc. and their twitter feeds are notorious reveals.
I'm still of a view that the mainstream press/cable were a significant factor in the installation of that psychopath along with a number of other cause/source, but they amplified every lie (and still do apparently) by giving it all the attention it didn't deserve and spinning with the air of credibility coupled with the whataboutisms. and so on. Our "press" is largely responsible in my view for duplicity and their continued dumbing down of America. They just can't seem to resist it as it appears they are engaged in repeating 2016 game play.
for ratings. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

(28,473 posts)he spins his lies and contradicts himself, which can be added to the Congressional record of the J6 committee. He can plead the Fifth if they ever get him in to testify before them, but he's already incriminated himself in this article (and elsewhere because he can't keep his lies straight or his mouth shut).

(54,770 posts)hear he has health concerns.
My guess is he'll be coy about running right up until 2024. If he thinks he has a real shot at winning, he'll probably run. If he doesn't think he'll win -- which seems the likeliest scenario -- he'll bow out with some BS lie.
WP is not turning right, and PoliticusUSA is printing BS.

If his polls look good, that's the last you'll hear of it. If they don't look good, sorry folks, those dang 'ol bone spurs are acting up again.

(32,639 posts)I don't think WaPo is moving right, but maybe they owe Chump a favor and this is the payoff. One interview doesn't mean much because his base doesn't read newspapers. Crazy MAGAts think the news media is all biased anyway.
