(31,823 posts)My husband will be down there for a restoration - and was thinking of attending. I would connect you with him so he kind of 'knows' someone. He just received his citizenship in November so he's all about giving money to his 'party' now.

(145,242 posts)I love how they color code the name badges so that the candidates know how much you gave. I got to meet Hillary twice in 2016 and Congressman Al Green had fun introducing me to Hillary as a civil rights attorney even though I am a corporate law attorney. Green did the same stunt with John Lewis.
in 2019, I was a day one contributor to Joe Biden and got to meet him twice at fundraisers here in Houston. At the first fundraiser, I had not maxed out but I got to have Joe sign three floor speech signs from his 2016 National Convention speech and had Joe take my iPhone from me and do three selfies (Joe is very good at this). At the next fundraiser, I was part of the group who got to meet Joe and the end. Joe and I got to talk about stuttering and Joe told me about the 20 or so kids with stutters he keeps in contact with. After telling Joe that I was a stutter, I got the famous Biden hug.
Have fun at the fundraiser.
