As COVID sweeps across D.C., Biden remains negative
In Washington D.C., the COVID outbreak has been particularly high profile striking multiple Cabinet secretaries and Congress members along with Mayor Muriel Bowser and the president of Georgetown University.
From Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California to Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, Democrats and Republicans alike, the latest subvariant BA.2 is making the rounds on the political class.
White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki, who is recovering from her second bout of the virus, insisted that everything was being done to protect President Biden, including testing all who come in contact with him, masking indoors, and social distancing.
That includes Fridays event at the White House lawn celebrating the Senate vote confirming Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Held outside, the ceremony included Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, members of Jacksons family, members of Bidens Cabinet, some of the Democratic senators who backed her nomination, as well as Democratic representatives and allies.
