how sick is everybody? Did the vaccines protect them from hospitalization and severe illness? And death?

Society is moving back whether we like it or not.

Get vaccinated. Get boosted. Wear a mask in crowds.

the expense of those who are at high risk; the immunocompromised, the disabled, & young children who can't be vaccinated.

Long haul Covid is very real & we never took the precautions which was needed as a country to ever really beat this deadly virus & the result is the highest death toll from Covid in the entire world.

As someone who is severely immunocompromised themselves, I shouldn't have to risk my life just to buy a gallon of milk at the grocery store because Karen refuses to wear a mask & the store has lifted their mask mandate. We're essentially living in a world where Ron DeSantis' "herd immunity of mass infection" is now the policy of the entire country and I for one am absolutely disgusted by it.

The “let’er rip” AKA laissez faire protocol places the burden and expense of COVID on those who are already burdened by age or other weakness.

It is a return to socializing the risk while privatizing the benefits. So also the status quo.

They have been setting the population up for it for months. Support for it seems to be widespread across the political spectrum so I’ve resigned myself to it’s inevitably. YOYO, that’s where I’ve spent my entire life.

Someone might be inconvenienced or have a peek at reality instead of the carefully crafted narrative of why some people seem to have a right to extra helpings of the commons.

This is why fully half (and counting) of the US population has had the disease and accounts for a fifth of the recorded deaths.

get vaccinated.... Get boosted.

I wear my mask in public/crowds. Please wear yours and stay healthy.

Whether we like it or not, society is moving on. Do all the things you can to protect yourself. Please. And if you test positive, talk immediately to your doctor/urgent care provider about antivirals. Since you are immunocompromised, you should be prioritized for them.

But apparently we have decided that the "general welfare clause" no longer applies to public health.

I'm sick & tired of people who are high risk being exploited for the economy. Other countries did it right, we on the other could have but we chose to and that is 100% a policy decision. There's simply no reason why people who are uninsured, millions of people, a large majority, can't even afford healthcare to begin with, should have to now pay $120 for a PCR Covid test.

This helps nobody and will allow Covid to run rampant unchecked. Literally.
