The Chancellor of Austria arrived in Kyiv and called for tougher sanctions against Russia

Austrian Chancellor Karl Negammer arrived in Kyiv on April 9, the Office of the President of Ukraine reported. "Austria supports us in resisting Russian aggression. The visit of Federal Chancellor Karl Negammer to Kyiv is an important manifestation of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, "Zelensky wrote in his telegram channel .

According to the President, they discussed "increasing sanctions pressure on Russia, support for the energy and oil embargo on the aggressor, our membership in the EU."

"We are on your side and try to help everywhere, always and wherever we can. And we will expand our assistance, "Negammer said.

"We want to expand sanctions and we will continue to follow this path, now they are not enough, because people are dying," he said at a joint briefing with the President of Ukraine.

The Chancellor of Austria is to go to Bucha, where mass killings of civilians were discovered after the withdrawal of Russian troops.
