The Russian general who has been put in charge of the invasion of Ukraine earned distinction in Moscow for his handling of his countrys intervention in the Syrian civil war, where he helped to oversee a brutal, scorched-earth campaign that drew criticism from many countries and human rights groups.
The general, Aleksandr V. Dvornikov, was dispatched to Syria in 2015 to shore up the flagging forces of President Bashar al-Assad and directed Russian forces there for a year. He was named a Hero of the Russian Federation for his role and is currently the commander of Russias southern military district.
Under his command, Russian forces in Syria were widely accused of bombing civilian neighborhoods, targeting hospitals and resorting to other tactics to try to break the back of the rebel movement that sought to oust Mr. al-Assad.
Bashar al-Assad is not the only one to be held accountable for killing civilians in Syria the Russian general should too, said Rami Abdulrahman, the head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a war monitor based in Britain. As the commander of military operations, that means hes behind killing Syrian civilians by giving the orders.

I understand that we've given them "lots" of military assistance, but I don't believe that it's nearly enough. Given the trillions of $ that we've poured into our MIC, I don't understand why we can't fully utilize it in a situation where it's clearly called for.
JMHO.

I hope we will soon see instances of operations inside Russia to hit military targets, especially supply lines and soldiers waiting for deployment.

(70,510 posts)Please have Gen. Aleksandr V. Dvornikov go into Ukraine and pick up a cell phone, a satellite phone,
or even drive in a vehicle. Trust me we have "ears and eyes" on those fuckers. This isn't Syria,
Chechnya, or Crimea (where Flynn sold the people of Crimea and America too out to Putin) ... this
the is the real deal for America and NATO and they are not f-ing around.
