Nebraska Legislature creating a slush fund for the Governor in LB729

Remember Nebraska is a one house (unicameral) legislature.

This is my letter to the editor of the local paper.

LB729 needs to be rejected by the Nebraska Legislature immediately. It removes true transparency under the cover of economic development. It will give the future Governor of Nebraska control over a large amount of money that the Legislature, and hence the people of Nebraska, will have no control over. This fund will cause a great many problems, in that the future Governor can do what they please with that money. Money that will come from donations from people interested in buying influence with the Governor, or for other unsavory reasons. LB729 needs to go now!

No idea why this looks like it will pass.

People started getting the word out. Because it got pulled out of committee, the paper didn't run my letter. I forgot to mention this he other day when it happened.
