Some interesting statistics in Texas primary

The link headlined with rejected mail-in ballots but look further at some of the numbers.

The final numbers sent in by all 254 Texas counties show that of the 198,947 Texans who sent in their ballots by mail, 24,636 saw their ballots tossed out, for a rejection rate of 12.4%.

Slight differences appear when broken down by party: 12.9% of the 110,967 mail ballots cast in the Democratic primary were rejected, while 11.8% of the 87,980 mail ballots cast in the Republican primary were rejected. More than 3 million Texans in total voted in the primary elections.

The percentage of rejected ballots was about the same for Republican and Democratic voters. But there were 23,000 more Democratic ballots than Republican, which is 26% more Dems voting by mail. Could that possibly suggest there will be 25% more Dems in the total vote November? Or just more Dems vote absentee?

I believe this will be even worse in November. People who vote in primaries are a subset of the whole voter base and usually they are more motivated. Yet, 12 % or so could not get their ballot accepted.
During a general election you have more voters, but I suspect many will be caught by these draconian voter suppression measures because they won't see it coming. They may not be as plugged in into politics as those who vote in primaries and will be caught by those bullshit new restrictions.

About 1 million Democrats voted. I am afraid in state wide races the mail in totals will not make much difference in the outcome.

by reading directions and listening to Democratic organization training.

It ain’t that hard folks. Fortunately, the rejection rate is roughly equal.

However, the November voters are gonna be new at this! That's the hard part.
