It would have to be succinct, sharp and barbed, clever, with a tiny bit of wit. My thinking is a better version of where is the beef? But somewhat PG rated. No foul language but it needs something to make people stop in their tracks for just an instant. There are sufficiently creative gag writers and Joe writers out there who could come up with something, but they would have to work on it.
As an aside, having a little to do with this, my personal favorite wine in any movie which was intended to disarm, was George Clooney in the film The Descendants, wherein he confronts the man who was having an affair with Clooneys now-comatose wife, starts talking to him and in the middle of his warming up says rather matter of factly: By the way, Fuck you. Ive used that on numerous occasions and it is a show stopper.
Of course, my other favorite joke in this regard what is the one about the guy who shows up for work and his coworker says you look like hell, whats the matter? The first guy replies that he had a terrible time with his wife that morning. A coworker asks what happened and the guy says that he made a terrible Freudian slip at breakfast. The coworker asks what did you say? The guy says well I meant to say please pass the sugar. The other guy asks for what did you say? The guy replies, I said you ruined my life you fucking bitch.

(15,543 posts)Republicans have degenerated into a party of lies, deceit, hate, grift, and with pronounced anti-democracy fascist leanings. They have converted the word "republican" into a label of disgrace.

It's short and to the point. It doesn't use any bad words. It can be said in a mild tone of voice. I think it's right on point.

And I like the wording! I will use it!
Jaime Harrison has come up with something shorter, and being from DNC, is likely to gain some clout. I gladly defer to a message better than none, or one that asks people to think
(yeah, that's sorry, but progress comes from being in office, and changing "hearts and minds" is about as effective as "thoughts and prayers" in this rough and tumble world. )

Finally, a sticky slogan for the GOP: 'Fraud, fear and fascism'

Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison on Wednesday offered a particularly apt summation of Republicans on MSNBC's Morning Joe.
It is a party built on fraud, fear and fascism," Harrison said. "They dont deserve to be in power.
The three FsFraud, Fear, and Fascismare a perfect alliteration for the GOP. The fact that it could fit on a bumper sticker is also a notable advancement for Democratic messaging.
Culling Republicans down to a sticky umbrella message about the pervasive corruption pulsing through the GOP would be super helpful for Democrats.
Every time Republicans say the 2020 election was stolen, the response can be, "There they go again."
Every time they claim their efforts to suppress votes and rig election outcomes are legitimate attempts to curb fraud, the response can be, "There they go again."
Every time they blanket Democrats with repulsive smears like "pedophiles" or "groomers," the response can be, "There they go again."
But let's linger for a minute on the latest trope Republicans are rolling out to smear Democrats and anyone else who dares to disagree with them: the notion that they are pedophiles who are grooming children for sexual abuse. On one level, it's a preposterous chargethe whole pedophile ring thing is so 2016. But the coked-up party of orgies does have a recurring obsession with lobbing sexual smears at their political opponents.
The "groomer" charge is just so on brand and perfectly repugnant for the GOP, catering to QAnon cultists steeped in the notion of a global cabal of sex traffickers run by Democrats and their allies.
Moderate Republicans who still exist in this world get it. As Never Trumper and The Bulwark publisher Sarah Longwell says of the messaging, "When your team tries a coup, you gotta think hard about whats worse than that. Hence, the 'groomer' discourse."
But The Bulwark's Jonathan V. Last absolutely nails the political strategy Republicans are employing and the choice they are making in the process.
"The modern Republican party has found a way to integrate voters who believe in a bizarre internet cult," Last writes. "But it has no desire to integrate voters who maintain that Joe Biden won the 2020 election fair and square."
That indeed is the modern Republican Party in a nutshell. And frankly, it represents an opportunity for Democrats: a critical slice of those reality-based Republicans are gettable for Democrats if they are continually reminded of exactly what the GOP has become.

(61,676 posts)I wish I could remember who posted it. If they let me know, I'll give them all the credit.
I didn't come up with it but I think it's very effective. It might cause people to stop and think. They might say "what do you mean?" and there's an opening for a conversation.
Every accusation is a confession. Pass it on.

(35,356 posts)the Lincoln Project. Take the BBB all we heard was arguing on whether it would be $6 trillion, $3 trillion,
$1 trillion nothing about what was in it. Instead of arguing with Republicans Democrats spent the year arguing
with Manchin and Sinama. I am disgusted myself we get the House, Senate and the Presidency and we don't
deliver because of two Senators. If the Republicans were in the same position, they would have got it done and
as always there would have been some Democrats that would have voted with them. We did get the so-called
infrastructure bill passed then after the signing it has been totally forgotten about. On the day President Biden
visited Pittsburgh to push for investment in infrastructure a bridge falls down. Did anyone think maybe they could
have a ribbon cutting event there announcing the infrastructure money was going to rebuild the bridge. Trump came to
western PA and took credit for a gas processing plant that was in construction two years before he became
President. We have Republicans running around the country now taking credit for construction projects and they voted
against them.

(52,273 posts)Remember that the media is strongly right-wing at this point. Obviously foxnews, but not just. The rest of the media talks about the crap f oh sneed talks about, including the same phrases and code words. They give a more balanced view of a biased topic and a biased frame.
Often it's a debate over a right-wing smear where the only conceivable upside for democrats is the smear is deemed probably wrong but in practice it's damaging just to have the debate. Consider the Hillary email nonsense.
In a paid ad, we can get our story out. This is where in Lincoln project excels.

(52,273 posts)Remind people that when they hate on lgbtqia people, they're hating on Americans and they're hating on freedom. I mean, what does freedom mean if not to live your life as the gender you are or to share it with whomever you love?
And when they hate on black people or Americans with non-European heritage, remind them that they're hating on Americans.
Why do they hate Americans?
Why do they hate freedom?
Why are they dividing us they way our enemies would like to do instead of uniting us?
