Arizona gov candidate Kari Lake says she would fine airlines $1,000 for making passengers wear masks

Kari Lake, a gubernatorial candidate for Arizona backed by former President Donald Trump, said on Monday that she would fine airlines $1,000 for each time they enforce mask mandates on passengers while in Arizona airspace.

Calling for an end to the Biden administration's mask mandates for planes and transport, Lake tweeted she would "make Arizona skies mask-free" if elected governor in this year's race.

"Any reports of airlines forcing masks in Arizona airspace would be subject to a $1,000 fine per incident with a tip line for passengers to report," Lake wrote. "This is a fight worth having..."

There was a time when crackpot candidates weren’t taken seriously. I miss the good old days.

They're ALL crackpots. Their Republican governors going back decades have all been crrooks (Slymington, Meacham) and/or nutjobs (Hull, Brewer, Ducey) Their state legislature is legend for being infested with right-wing lunatics. The few sane Republicans are the "fringe."

there are people out there who think that it's more important to control a private business THIS way, but not by making them pay their taxes, pay a living wage, provide access to health insurance, treat all employees equally, and prevent them from enriching themselves with stock buy-back plans that also help their stockholder avoid taxes.

Apparently the MASK is the problem in this country.
