It always hurts to lose friends. I am sorry for your loss, sorry for his family and close friends and sorry for ours as well. He was one of a kind and funny as hell.

I still can hear the Sydney Bernstein character from Beverly Hills Cop II.
His delivery put some people off, but not me. I thought he was hilarious!

He was an acquired taste but I acquired it. My favorite was his impression of Mickey Mouse on Acid.

Well, not specifically you, but everyone. When I first heard him I couldn't stand him, but after a few thousand exposures I started to warm to him. He was a funny, funny guy. He'll be missed, but he's always just a YouTube video away.

I always got the impression that off-stage, he was the sweetest guy. He was abrasively harmless with a voice of a 90-year old man. I loved him.

But if he knew you, there was no one funnier to be around. A tragic loss of a comedic genius.

On Bumping Mics series on Netflix. He was soooo funny, if a little to much for some people. The world is a little less funny. So sad.

He has been in so many "behind the scenes" things but I do remember him in "The Last Sharknado" on SyFy (there were a pile of "guest stars in that ).

What a loss, condolences to his family, and R.I.P.

know he had a type of muscular dystrophy that comes on in adults. Must be kind of rare? Way to young at 67.

Just one memory ...

an episode of Married with Children where the Bundys get stuck in a small lifeboat with Gilbert Godfried playing a parody of himself.

He drove 'em nuts.

As a major fan of comedy, oof. Norm MacDonald, Bob Saget, now Gottfried.

Of course, Iago was my first exposure to him, but as I grew older I appreciated the hell out of his off color comedy.

Son of the Beach with Timothy Stack & Gilbert Gottfried as the heroic lifeguard of Tel Aviv Adjacent.

Chip's a Goy!

Season 2 Episode 7 was banned for many years because it made fun of Osama Bin Laden back in 2002.
