Mississippi Governor Declares April As Confederate Heritage Month

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, the same one who said there is no systemic racism in America, is declaring the month of April as Confederate Heritage Month, again.

“April is the month when, in 1861, the American Civil War began between the Confederate and Union armies, reportedly the costliest and deadliest war ever fought on American soil,” the proclamation states.

Reeves is honoring the controversial tradition for the third year in a row, the Mississippi Free Press reports. His white predecessors started the commemoration 29 years ago. When he issued the same proclamation last year, Reeves appeared on Fox News and said “there is not systemic racism in America.”

The Republican governor has also declared April as Genocide Awareness Month. According to the proclamation, genocide is “the systematic destruction of all or a significant part of a racial, ethnic, religious or national group by destroying a group’s political and social institutions, culture, language, national feelings, religion and economic existence, and destroying the personal security, liberty, health, dignity and lives of individuals belonging to the group.”

Maybe he can do a live fire reenactment of Pickett's charge to celebrate.

sense to me how are you for the US and a traitor at the same time. I have seen others with the US flag FJB. How can you be a patriot and say FJB at the same time.

One fellow on another message board encapsulated the "heritage" argument so well: "Well, my great-great-granddaddy was in the Indiana 133rd Irregulars [or whatever], so it's my heritage to shoot any Rebel sumbitch flying that flag." What month is that heritage honored in Mississippi?

Going beyond their usual "cancel culture" bullshit.

By lumping the two, that's exactly what he is implying.

This flows into their whole replacement "theory" bullshit as well.
