So these refrigerators in Finland are really being kept to hold land mines?

So much of this is new to me. And the question is how do you get the mine into the fridge without it going off?

I thought this pic of a washing machine was funny but I'm not sure why..........

FRIDGE MOUNTAIN, IPSWICH, SUFFOLK, BRITAIN - 2002

THERE ARE NEW EU LAWS ON THE DISPOSAL OF OLD FRIDGES, DUE TO DANGEROUS GASES AND OTHER MATERIALS USED IN THEIR MANUFACTURE. FRIDGES ARE PILING UP WAITING FOR SPECIAL DISPOSAL UNITS TO BE BUILT.

And it seems like there'd be better ways to less obviously mess with detection.

I think, given the spirit of the other posts, the point of the refrigerator is to lure the feckless russian soldiers into the minefield with unbelievable luxuries not available in their criminal organization masquerading as a country.

Not a great joke, but an attempt at humor taken seriously I suspect.

Humor is subjective, and gallows humor is more often taken wrong. Just my guess.

*whoosh* Happens. My philosophy is, be kind and explain it was a joke.

To be fair gallows humor is hard for a lot of people. It's like satire, which takes a specific mindset to get automatically. Me, my sense of humor is so dry it resembles a desert, so it's in my DNA to get it.

Russians, starving because they can't plan a war competently, will get blown up as they race for the food they think is in the fridges. Maybe someone else has a better solution.

Which was particularly absurd given that they were trying to retreat from Kyiv, they were abandoning tons of military hardware but trying to drive out trucks of stolen washing machines instead.

So that toon makes perfect sense.

A land mine has a safety pin, like a hand grenade. As long as it’s in, the mine won’t detonate.
