(94,585 posts)Disney has three parks plus multiple activity areas and hotels in Florida. They can't be picked up and "moved". Nor will vacationers change their plans for Florida; they'll simple go to another park.

Anaheim doesnt have the footprint to add more backstage support. And Glendale might as well be in Nevada with LA traffic
Btw. WDW has *four* theme parks, not three. Plus two water parks. Dozens of hotels. Dozens of DVC timeshare hotels. Sprawling Disney Springs entertainment/dining/shopping area. Mini golf, partner hotels. Massive solar farms. Water reclamation facilities. Cruise Line operations in Celebration. ESPN sports complex. Multiple massive laundry facilities

(99,710 posts)That being said Orlando is second to only Las Vegas in convention space and hotel rooms. I'm not convinced they are coming for Universal Studios, Legoland, Sea World, and Gatorland.

(18,634 posts)WDI does all the development and R&D for new rides at the parks.
They have been in Glendale, a few miles from the Disney Studio in Burbank, since the early 50's when they started designing Disneyland. They were planning to pick up and move their whole operation to Florida. I don't know how far along they were but it wasn't announced that long ago.
