G. Elliot Morris: “My argument is that this unified progressive agenda does nothing to bring back into the fold the conservative working-class voters — mainly white, but growing significantly more Latino recently — who have abandoned the Democrats and caused the structural disadvantages that are dragging them down today.”

“The party needs a renewed identity as a pro-worker party, not one where coastal elites control the party line on policy and messaging. And it needs to be substantially more diverse in its approach to talking to voters in different areas of the country; messages that work in young, diverse urban cores do not work in educated white suburbs or shrinking exurbs.”

1. I understand there are a lot of Democrats in coastal blue states

But coastal elites? I still see the Democratic Party as a pro worker party while Republicans favor tax cuts for the rich. The urban cities have a lot of workers but things change when you change your pitch for educated white voters in suburban districts. Besides many suburbs are more diverse than they used to be.

Not sure how you appeal to conservative working class white, a diverse urban city with a lot of workers, and educated white people in suburban districts while still being pro worker. Also like I said suburban areas are more diverse than they were 20 years ago.

BTW I live in a suburb but I’m a white voter without a college degree.

3. Many counties in south Texas are majority latino.

They swung very heavily to Trump.

Republicans got more latino votes despite Trump's racist rhetoric.

Everyone assumed that because of the growth of Texas Hispanic population it would become a blue state. Well given voting trans that's not going to happen.

To bury our heads in the sand and say we are not in trouble would be to deny reality.

4. Arizona is the same way but they handed the election to Biden

Mexican-Americans in Arizona hate Trump and voted for Biden. Only 25% of Latinos in Texas have a favorable view of Republicans compared to 50% for Democrats. Nationwide Democrats have a majority but they think it should be in higher margins. They are not as high as they were under Obama.

I see the republicons as desperate for a false history to create the fake future they can only see.

The train has left the depot, and they are standing on the platform unaware.

We can win this with cunning confidence and humor. Damn it we are the party of intelligence and hard work, start showing off, and if the snowflakes are offended by it, to bad and maybe they should quit the shit show circus and get on board creating the awesome country we can be with investment, humor and confidence in what we WILL achieve.

We got this, we are the majority!

Let's not listen to DNC's own pollsters!

Let's not listen to academic analysts who evaluate every House and Senate race!

Let's not listen to Democratic strategists!

Victory is ours!

tails off...put out ideas and policy that will be voting issues and show up. This election is as important as 24...if we keep the house and the Senate...there will be no stealing of elections...if some don't show up then once again outside has let us down. You would think 2000,2004,2010,2014 and 2016 would have made folk realize how important it is to vote in every election and always vote Democratic.

8. I had a conversation with a white guy about parties.

He told me he voted for rump the second time, he did not the first. I asked him why and his response was " I am sick of every democrat telling me I am racist, and everything that hurts blacks was his fault " His wife was mixed, and a rump voter as well. I tried to have a further conversation with them, but I had to leave a few mins later.

We need to figure out how to get away from that message, even if its wrong some people think it.

10. It's not just Democrats that will suffer

It's everyone in the free world that are standing on the precipice, watching as our little experiment in representative democracy struggles to survive.

It's the 1/3 to 1/2 of the American voting public that didn't vote for either a Democrat or a Republican, who are simply trying to live their lives in peace.

It's the sad and pathetic deluded fools who voted for Trump and really think that the Republican Party will somehow bring them peace and prosperity, who don't have a vaguest clue what it will mean to them once the Constitution and the rule of law are dumped into the dustbin of history.

The only winners at the end of this game will be Putin and Xi.
