giving don't have a thing to do with CRT, but they don't care, because the ignorant media won't point that out to the public which is ignorant about what CRT in the first place.

That said, the examples given from the books they are highlighting, do not reflect well on those specific books, and whoever thought it was a good idea to incorporate social commentary in examples in a Math book to demonstrate Math principles, is not very smart, and only gives ammunition to republicans to push the republican racist ideology.

What this does demonstrate is that the politicians, media, and the public at large are ignorant on what Critical Race Theory is, and will paint everything as CRT whether it applies or not

whether Dem or Rethug. That horse has left the barn I am afraid.

Perfect example to show it previously happening is how 95% (or more) of Americans conflate communism, socialism (democratic and otherwise), and social democracy, as if they all were the same thing.

You made an excellent point about a 'self-own' that fucks us:

Same for the any Dem in Congress who falsely self labels as a democratic socialist. It drives me bonkers (as I am sure you know by now as I have been ranting about it since I joined the board coming up on 4 years ago). It is by far my biggest issue with AOC, who I love overall. She is so intelligent, yet has a blind spot for that blasted label.

If you read the posts on Facebook, many right-wingers think the Democrats are all fascists and/or socialists and/or communists. They think anybody who speaks in favor of civil rights must be a fascist and/or communist and/or socialist. They think that efforts to help employees get fair wages must be due to fascism/communism/socialism. When challenged, one man posted that requiring people to wear masks anywhere is a clear sign of fascism.

left wing socialist fascists (wtf).

Idiocracy is well on its way to becoming a reality, albeit far more sinister than the movie was.

Idiocracy came out in 2006, the year that Twitter launched, completing the triad (after Facebook in 2004, and YouTube in 2005) of the original big 3 social media giants the RW has used to help rip apart the nation's political culture.

Of course there are a lot of other social media firms that aid in that as well, but those 3 are OG's in terms of sites that actual blew up and maintained the assault.

All 3 were pretty damn harmless in 2006 and then 2007, although you could already see some trends coming by early mid 2007 on into 2008 (ironically coinciding with the true kinetic start of the global 2007-2009 financial crash on April 2, 2007, when the subprime giant New Century collapsed and filed for Chapter 11).

The President of Ukraine is Jewish and the relative of Jewish people killed by Nazis. How does anybody in the world manage to believe that he would be a Nazi? Imagine how that must make him feel!

The first two examples don't look like elementary level math to me. The third and fourth examples look like they're from the teachers' materials, not problems that would be given to students.

These examples don't seem to match the complaints made by the stere of Florida.

The big 5 that CASEL is built openness to new ideas, consciousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism (not sure why they put the negative end of the trait for the name except for acronym OCEAN) or the 6 part HEXACO model that adds honesty/humility are linked to positive work outcomes.

Employers want workers who can empathize and work well in a group. They are assessed by employers all over the world for hiring decisions.

I've done research on how these facets impact learning in cooperative problem solving. These are not new, they have been studied, assessed, and taught for 50 years.

Rethugs want dumb poor people to get angry about teaching SEL because if you score low, you can't move up the economic ladder. Then you will have a grievance that they can use to scapegoat an 'other' that they can exploit to get your vote.
