This has been the Republican platform since Trump became president. It can work short term, but it cannot survive long term. We are witnessing something historic. A politically party that lost their fucking minds in their quest for power.
We are witnessing the Republican platform coming apart at the seams. The entire party is being exposed for what they have become. Liars, extremists, cowards. We are at the early stages of a party being held accountable for what they have become.
The Jan. 6th committees open hearings are going to be brutal. We will see, hear, more tapes, texts, that will expose many people to legal jeopardy. Many Republicans will be destroyed politically.
Garland will face great pressure to hold people accountable, I believe he will. The American people watched the crimes being committed. They saw it with their own eyes. They will demand action. They will demand people be held accountable.
Hell is coming for the Republican party.
If I am wrong and a platform of lies, extremism, cowardice, is accepted by the people, if the people continue to vote for this platform. You can kiss our democracy goodbye.

I do believe Garland is the man for the job.

Then Reagan made the whole thing much worse.

(15,543 posts)Expect that by the time the Jan. 6 hearings finally get underway, the vast, dark-money Republican Propaganda Media Machine (and their darkside murderous Russian Black-op Komrades) will be ready to pump the airwaves full of evil lies.
That is who they are. That is what they do.

(35,440 posts)They will make a deal with Satan to make this happen. This is why the Democratic party needs a broad based, multi group coalition of ALL Americans to defeat them. We cannot be just the party of coastal urban centers and their suburbs. We need to be the party of everyone.

I live in Texas, and the Republicans tactics show no means of slowing down or falling apart. I feel that your post is way out of touch.
Our democracy has a few more months and if we dont win in the midterms, it is gone for good.
