The United States has not charged Assange for passively obtaining or receiving classified
information.

(3,541 posts)As I recall, Wikileaks published material like nyt with the pentagon papers. Are nyt publishers under arrest for co-publishing materials?
Also intrusion was done by others not Assange.
Assanges crime as I see it is pissing off the wrong powerful people.
Maria Ressa/Rappler has been infuriating Philippine power structure for years. Arrests followed by 2021 Nobel peace prize.
Not to mention all the dead journalists in Mexico and elsewhere.
You might not like Assanges politics but we should defend his right to publish.
