4-year-old girl dies after grandmother forced her to drink bottle of whiskey

4-year-old dead of alcohol poisoning after grandmother, mom make her drink whiskey, police say
By JAMES FINN | Staff writer Apr 22, 2022 - 9:40 am

A 4-year-old girl died after her grandmother suspected she may have stolen a sip of whiskey and then forced the child to drink the rest of the bottle as her mother watched, Baton Rouge Police said Friday.

The East Baton Rouge coroner's office said China Record, 4, died Thursday from acute alcohol poisoning.

BRPD Spokesman Sgt. L'Jean McKneely said that the little girl had a blood alcohol level of .680 when officers arrived at her family's home on Wallis St. late Thursday morning — more than eight times the limit at which adult drivers are considered intoxicated.

Both the little girl's grandmother, Roxanne Record, and mother, Kadjah Record, were booked early Friday morning on first degree murder, McKneely said.

Sometimes I’m stunned by the disgusting criminal behavior. Four year old forced to drink a bottle of whisky? Hopefully mom and granny never see freedom again.

It was at least 20 years ago.
My wife was a coteacher/in-classroom social worker for Spec Ed. (Behavior Disorder & Emotionally Disturbed kids 10-13).
One particularly bright lad ended up in the hospital because his parents made him play a drinking game with them, involving shots of Jack.
Gladly, the boy did not die but he spent a dew days in ICU.
I don't know what goes through the minds of people who would do this.

Granny must have been pouring it down the kid's throat while she was passed out.

She probably did throw up. People can throw up and still die of alcohol poisoning.

If I was forced to drink that I would definitely throw up. It burns too.

That poor kid.

They are mentally deranged.
She upset that the little girl possibly took a sip?
But were okay losing the rest of the whiskey?

There are so many people in this world who should not reproduce or be parents.

Too many childrens' lives are a living hell because their parents never think the decision through and aren't equipped or committed to being loving, selfless caretakers.

My favorite line from the old TV show "ER". "Stupid people shouldn't be allowed to breed."

There is a serious lack of good parenting skills in this country. Maybe they should start teaching a class in that and make it mandatory.

But they're so abysmally stupid, there can't possibly be any rehabilitation. I'm beginning
to think I live in a bubble of fairly sane, well behaved and smart people. This site for example. But there's a
world of stupid out there and more of them than us. It makes me want to sell everything and
move to a mountaintop.

More there
snip-The document further stated the child’s grandmother and mother were angry because she may have drunk alcohol from the bottle of whiskey that was on the counter, so the grandmother allegedly forced the toddler to drink the rest of the liquor that was in the bottle, which was possibly more than half full. It added the young girl had to drink the alcohol while on her knees in the hallway and the victim’s mother was there but failed to stop the girl’s grandmother from giving her the liquor.

The arrest warrant stated Roxanne Record told investigators “she messed up” and “wanted to take full responsibility” for the child’s death. The grandmother also reportedly said “this went too far” and “she ruined everyone’s lives.”

No lie there Granny Roxanne.

task. With first degree murder, you have to prove intentional murder that is willful and premeditated with malice aforethought. There's probably enough reasonable doubt that either of these women thought they were going to actually kill the child. I would assume these women ultimately get convicted of second-degree murder or manslaughter.
