Jamie Raskin Says He Has Consulted Cult Experts To Communicate With Extremist Colleagues

I do find this amusing even though it's so sad.

Democratic lawmaker said he has warned some far-right colleagues that if they don't snap out of it, they'll be selling "incense and flowers at Dulles Airport."

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) revealed that he has sought advice from “cult deprogrammers” on how best to communicate with his extremist Republican colleagues — and “pull them away” from their alternative realities.

He has told some of those colleagues, “If you guys don’t get out of this, you’re going to be fit when it’s all over only to be selling incense and flowers at Dulles Airport,” Raskin recounted Thursday in Washington D.C. at a “Truth and Trauma” talk hosted by Georgetown University’s Center on Faith and Justice.

“They’ve abandoned critical thinking skills,” added Raskin, who sits on the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection.

He said deprogramming experts have told him to be “as warm and affectionate and as personable as you can be with them and make them remember what life was like before they got into the cult.”

But “you have to be very emphatic about what the truth is and what facts are versus what is just derangement,” he added.

I can logically think about how it happened: the orange motherfucker appeals to their worst instincts and then there's confirmation bias, and psychological rewards, etc., but I still marvel at the mass brainwashing of IDIOTS in this country, many of whom we PAY as our "representatives." It's crazy.

It's the same kind of thing that allowed Nazi Germany to thrive. If any of you haven't read "It Can't Happen Here," I highly recommend it. It was written in 1935 and OMG, when you read it, you will see a clear pattern that matches up with what is happening NOW. It's truly frightening, and it illustrates exactly why we have to fight like hell to save this country and keep these motherfuckers from taking over America. That is what they are working towards - fascism. We have to treat this like the emergency it really is.

and the parallels are disturbing. Today we have so many more propaganda tools making it easier to reach a lot of people in a short period of time. I agree, it is an emergency rather like a zombie apocalypse. I think we also need to question what makes some people so vulnerable to brainwashing. The world is starting to look like some futuristic dystopian movie.

"...a sharp stick in the eye?"

They would likely hesitate to answer.

After all, they haven't been stuck in the eye with a sharp stick lately. How do they know you aren't trying to pull some liberal trick?

They shall wait for their Leader to tell them before they can decide on their own.

"Heil Hitler!"
