Republican pols aren't the problem, as repulsive as they are,

It’s the 40% of Americans who tolerate their anti-American nonsense and Fox News that promotes the Neo Nazi right wing agenda. I am constantly amazed about how many so called patriotic Americans refuse to reject Trump, DeSantis, and their ridiculous policies such as banning books and racist voter suppression. I am starting to lose hope for the future of this country. I often think that in prewar Germany there had to be good and decent people who were horrified by Nazi policies. Are we there?

Thank you for this. Although it is critical that anti-democracy pols be called out, we too often fail to place blame on those who control them — the despicable share of our population who knowingly and willingly demand today’s anti-American vitriol and actions. They are well aware of what they are fostering and are addicted to it. Their minds will not be changed. So we work to out-number them and overcome their efforts to suppress our numbers or to render those numbers inconsequential.

A Boebert, a Taylor-Greene, a Gaetz, a Gosar and Gohment don't get elected by people with anything but malice in their hearts. I still blame the party (and big donors) for not reining this in. But it's the little people with their nastiness and vitrol that supply the votes.
(and show up to overturn an election on Jan 6th.)

If we are going to take this situation seriously, then 1) the message of the cost of losing a free democracy needs to be pounded down our throats daily and 2) our friends at DOJ need to show us that laws pertain to all. Without that, and it appears to be that way now, we are destined to decline into a mindless obedient society, bowing and praying to honor our glorious leader every morning on television before we go to toil for peanuts - oh, and don’t forget our monthly mandatory donations to the “greater cause” (money at the top).

Come on Democrat leadership - blow the fricking horn loud and clear. Start telling our story like there is no other.
