“Randy Bishop, a right-wing Michigan radio host who filed last week to run for the state Senate, said on his show last month that TV commercials were attempting to make him feel guilty because he thinks families should be all White,” the Detroit News reports.

Said Bishop: “Can’t even watch a college basketball tournament without commercials telling me I have to feel guilty because I think a family should be a White mom, a White dad and White kids. They want us to die and go away. And they’re going to try to do it through politics this year. Well, we have got to be just as smart.”

What commercials, specifically, are telling poor, put-upon Randy that he has to feel guilty about things, and what specifically do they say that sounds like they want you to die and go away? liberals like the mixed race family in the commercial. It makes us feel good.... like some things are getting better. Racists get to feel angry which is how they roll. The product name remains in the minds of both.

Think of the Skittles ad where the girl eats a skittles she takes of the face of the red haired boy. Gross. Or where the rasta man milks a giraffe to get skittles. Neither of these are platatable... not the people in the ads for a liberal but where the skittles come from in both cases. Why would skittles make ads like this? Two-track marketing. Reptilian brain negative marketing for racists is my guess. Maybe big business knows there was going to be a backlash to their ads to get people to vote GOP more often if they were in the middle?

Oh, and when I hear complaints about how "every" family in commercials is Black and there are no more white men depicted positively on TV, I am reminded of a bit in a Woody Allen movie. I think it might be Annie Hall. One character played by Diane Keaton says that she and her partner have sex "all the time", "like three times a week". Meanwhile, Allen's character complains that they hardly ever have sex, that it only happens "about three times a week".

People see what they want to see. And when they are Olympic level grievance collectors, they will ignore every piece of evidence that refutes their victim aspirations.
