I haven't seen last night's SNL but hubby told me their Biden actor appeared to have dementia.

I've seen them do that before and it makes me sick.

Bye-bye, SNL.

On update: thinking about it, he might have said the Biden depiction was part of a news skit. So I don't know what happened exactly, but hubby's less political than I am, so if he was bothered it must have been nasty.

I've seen Stephen Colbert do it and it is a total turnoff for me. For the most part I love Stephen Colbert, but those kind of jokes are very offensive and help feed the senile narrative. The jokes about Biden's sunglasses are very funny however.

After four years (and counting) of a blithering idiot who could not articulate the language, and tried to overthrow the democracy I cherish, I don't find their Biden skits particularly funny.

Time for SNL to go the way of Bill Mahr's crap.

comedy show, not a political arena operation. They make fun of every President, they always have.
I'd prefer to keep my comedy, especially with all of it's insensitivity at times.
Even Obama could laugh at the jokes various people made about him, often participating himself.
Live life and laugh!

SNL mocked Trump (and every other President) relentlessly. Granted, Trump did/said a lot of stupid stuff and thereby gave them a ton of ammunition.

It's more than a little silly to get up in arms about it now that it's Biden's turn to be their target. Being the butt of jokes comes with the territory.

after his people considered the 25th amendment.

Biden's only problem is a stutter, but SNL is taking cheap shots at him because of his age.

It is not funny and it is really poor writing. I don't see how dementia is ever funny and implying that a sitting president is senile is as you say, "lazy, at best. Complicit at worst".

I mean, that whole section is practically designed to rustle jimmies here. (The Musk joke that follows is great).

SNL's entire take on Biden is more or less he's old, out of touch, and vaguely senile. But that's been their angle all season, so I don't know what could've triggered this protest in particular.

Ageism is alive and well on late night tv, among the liberals in the US of A. It is so completely repulsive to me!! How can anyone think it’s amusing?! It’s tragic, cynical, unhelpful and ultimately destructive. This must stop. Why has the AARP been silent?! Why are we silent? We should be calling the sponsors and stations, Etc.

is to mock people with a disability, such as stuttering. Biden's stuttering doesn't make him demented. (Which also shouldn't be mocked. And ageism isn't funny either.)

Just because SNL is supposed to be a comedy show doesn't mean any of us need to appreciate it, or to watch it.
