On the humanitarian front, Israel has been anything but dispassionate.
In addition to shipping 100 tons of medical equipment, clothing, food and other supplies to displaced Ukrainians, Israel set up the first foreign field hospital operating inside Ukrainian territory. A special unit in the Foreign Ministry is coordinating the transfer of individual and corporate donations to Israeli and international aid organizations assisting Ukrainian refugees.
Israel has been taken to task for failing to sign on to the international sanctions on Russia.
Though Jerusalem doesnt have the authority to formally impose such sanctions under Israeli law, the government has nevertheless warned Israeli businesses and firms of the dangers of violating those other countries have imposed against Russia.
An interagency task force has been set up to block Russian attempts to bypass the sanctions through Israel. The task force has successfully prevented the smuggling of Russian assets into the country.

More than any other country in the Middle East.
More than Switzerland, a wealthy country in the middle of Europe.
Similar to Austria, another wealthy European country.

(23,123 posts)Don't thank the country. Thank the individual who deserves it.
Edit - I just saw that Israel has changed their stance, good, they were tacitly supporting the Ruscists before. Still don't trust them, but glad they decided to stop being so supportive of nazilike behavior.

Israel has been consistently condemning Russia since at least February 24. That's the day of the invasion.
You see, Israel has never changed its stance. The issue is that you only learned about Israel's stance so late in the game. Hardly a reflection on Israel.
