Honestly we have huge issues. This will be interesting to see play out.

I'm not up on this case BUT as a coach he is an authority figure to the players and can keep them on the bench and toss them from the team. Any of his players would then feel pressure to participate in prayer even if they were agnostic or athiest.

He cannot pressure or coerce his players or anyone else to do so.

The right wing talks about "getting prayer our of schools" but that is bullshit, just like every other argument they have. Anyone can pray in school. It is just the fact that the school cannot specifically endorse prayer. Hell, a teacher can say, "If you would like to take a moment to pray, or meditate, or just clear your mind if you do not practice any religion, you can do so for the next 2 minutes." That is inclusive and allows people do or not do what they want without forcing anyone.

I am sure there will be social pressure, but the coach needs to make sure that they remind the players that there is no cost for NOT participating.

It is about the imposition, NOT the prayer. Suppose it was a Muslim coach who wanted to kneel to Mecca? Would this have gone to the Supreme Court?

Not that this crowd gives a shit what the Bible actually says. Just as they claim to be "patriots," while picking and choosing what parts of the Constitution they ignore.
