CounterSocial is the first Social Network Platform to take a zero-tolerance stance to hostile nations, bot accounts, trolls and disinformation networks who are weaponizing OUR own social media platforms and freedoms to engage in influence operations against us. And we're here to counter it.

The fact that there is no Android app will definitely limit participation though. They need to get on that. It would be interesting to see how they define troll activity as opposed to someone who has a strong opinion about a contrary view.

We get those things here where someone who supports a candidate or position that others are against, and people get called trolls or right wingers in disguise. Sometimes people just hold differing views.

I have wanted to join Twitter for some time, but I have feared it would dominate my time. I will check out the newbie in town.

of the white type on a black background. There's a reason why 99.5% of published reading materials is black type on a white background. It's ideal contrast for the eyes.

White type on a black background may seem different and dramatic, but it's harder on the eyes and readers will spend less time on a site with it. Same with the printed page. This from a long-time art director from the publishing world.

page, that's a thought. But it is actually easier to read black type on a white background. No cheapskate publishers decision at all.

During daylight, black on white is easier. But if you're browsing at night, all that white can be blinding. Also, if you're on a mobile device with an OLED display, mostly black uses less battery than mostly white.

Mostly black may use less battery, it's still tiring on the eyes for long reads.

If I read a white on black page for any length of time I get an annoying burn-in effect that leaves me seeing letters on my walls for a time. It's a frustrating nuisance to say the least.

Got a confirmation email, but when I tried to post got an “access denied” message…..hmph.
I’m reasonably certain I’m not a bot or a right wing troll….
Too bad, I was looking for a bolt hole for when Twitter becomes the massive MAGA cesspool that seems likely…

Hoping it can still turn into a usable space for people who realize opinions and facts are not necessarily the same thing.
