Okay, doom-ish implications, incorrect information and Olympic competition-level handwringing have been the order of the day on DU today, so here's your chance to actually articulate it: what is your worst-case fever-dream of what Twitter will become that it is not now?

(2,184 posts)so we should be able to see if those are allowed without consequence in fairly short order.
"Intimidation of their enemies" is a bit more nebulous and subjective.
Thanks for articulating your worries.

A lot of people who use twitter are basically addicts, they may "quit", but that won't last.
Personally, I think twitter and facebook are among the worst things to happen to mankind in the last 20 years. Even the dumbest of the dumb can figure out how to use these platforms, and they bring their stupid with them.
If "social media" completely evaporated, I think we would all be much better off, at least after the DT's wore off. And that's coming from someone who has been active on social media for over 30 years. I started out using BBS systems, and then heavy into newsgroup participation. Even reddit can never hope to be as foul as some of the old newsgroups. We fought and we flamed, but at least there wasn't as much outward and raw hatred as there is now.

I see the new owner is the same owner who had to pay out $137 million settlement to black employee over racism.
