His start up money came as a family Dutch exploitation of South African apartheid.

Makes him no less reprehensible and we could substitute : Koch, Bezos, Buffett or other American oligarchs who are just as despicable. Any of them could easily pony up the money that he challenged the UN to come up with a plan for ending world hunger.

Of course, families don't get that obscenely rich without ignoring the plight of ordinary people in the gross accumulation of wealth and power.

How much tax has he paid here in the US?

I hear you on the start up money, but the US made him what he is today.

I agree 100% these are despicable people who could easily make the world a better place with no loss of their exorbitant lifestyle.

And yes of course they have taken advantage of others in their gross accumulation of wealth.

Plus he advocates for taxing the rich more. And he still lives in the house he grew up in. Nothing fancy.

Buying up huge tracts of the Amazon and protecting them from destruction, for example.

Giving money to educate and empower women, esp. in areas with high birthrates, also an excellent cause.

IMHO Ending World Hunger is one of those feel-good ideas ... that is actually NOT a good one.

Not if you care about the planet and its non-human inhabitants.
