In a lawsuits never-before-seen testimony, Donald Trump admitted to personally overseeing the compensation of an executive whose corporate perks have been under scrutiny by the Manhattan district attorney, potentially strengthening the case against the former president and his company for tax fraud.
Trumps sworn testimony was filed in New York state court on Tuesday, as part of a lawsuit against the Trump Organization over the way its security guards manhandled protesters outside Trump Tower in 2015.
According to a transcript of the Oct. 18, 2021 deposition, Trump repeatedly asserted that heand only heoversaw the way Matthew Calamari Sr. was paid for his work as the family companys chief operating officer.
It would be me, Trump repeatedly said, when asked who had authority over Calamaris compensation.
That would potentially make Trump personally responsible for any tax dodging scheme, and more importantly, is useful evidence in the grand jury investigation that has yet to produce an indictment against him.

(54,770 posts)on his (Calamaris) personal return.
trump will likely claim he set his compensation at say $500K, gave him use of Condo, etc.; but he did not have anything to do with withholding, W2s, and Calamaris personal tax returns.
I suspect trump would say same for exec who got grandkids tuition.
The underlings will pay big time, trump organization might have to pay a bit more on some past payroll taxes. But trumps gonna walk.

(42,770 posts)despite the original indictment mentioning unindicted participants, would be indicted by a newer GJ.
This was supposed to be a huge deal. (Systematic and flagrant). Then more recently not so much... Of lesser magnitude. Like no jail time for Weisselburg? WTF.
Like I've said before, I got down on my hands and knees to measure my home office...worried I could be over measuring and the standard deduction is $5 sf! And they avoided a million? And no biggie
Trump lawyers filed charge dismissal. Hearing in June.
Obviously FG unindicted. WHY
