Afro-Cuban American artist Harmonia Rosales re-creates classic western art from the perspective of her cultural roots. The image below is her rendition of Michelangelo’s The Last Judgement from the Sistine Chapel. The “sinners” in the original have become Africans being delivered by slave ship into bondage in America.
