Out of nowhere Musk tweets attacking...Wellbutrin

I’m not going to post the tweet. It’s easy to find and the brouhaha is enormous. But that FOOL randomly claimed that Wellbutrin poses a suicide risk because people around the table (dinner I guess) told him stories about it. He also endorsed Adderall.

It’s been well documented that sometimes, as the sufferer regains a bit more agency but hasn’t gotten up to the point of being out of the depression, there’s a somewhat increased risk with an antidepressant. It’s not just Wellbutrin. But what’s really more dangerous is cold turkeying the drug or not trying it—under careful supervision—in the first place when it might save your life.

Why on EARTH would he do that? Hubris? Testing? Stupidity?

Some people need attention 24/7 and it doesn't matter what kind of attention. With his wealth, apparently he doesn't care if people don't like him or what he says. He is becoming like the crazed villain in the old Saturday morning cartoon shows - "I will rule the entire world!"

He doesn't think of the consequences of what he says. Apparently whatever thought pops in his head has to come out. A smarter version of Trump.

It’s not like he blathers on about all kinds of things. He’s been random and more visible lately but this is a strange topic. Maybe there’s something I don’t know. Is he into Adderall or does he take it for ADHD?

which could result in negative side effects with Wellbutrin.

However, a side effect in one person, does not mean it will cause the same side effects in other people. Psyche meds are notorious for benefiting some and negative effects in others.

I can't tolerate Wellbutrin, but I certainly wouldn't say negative things about the med! Reactions are so individual.

It's a "know it all" attitude that infects men like Musk & Trump & Putin. Their followers/supporters are the same—they think they know it all. The difference is that Musk/Trump/Putin have the money & influence to act on their stupidity.

Just this week there was a story about some state legislature proposing a bill that would require doctors to discuss ivermectin & other medications that have been proven not to be effective on Covid, with their Covid patients. I don't see how we recover from 40% of the country being willfully ignorant or just plain stupid.

before the meds, you want to shoot yourself, but you cant get up and walk across the room, and reach into the drawer, and load the gun, then shoot yourself.
as the meds kick in, the ability to get up kicks in before the desire to kill yourself kicks out.

and yes, this is ANY effective med.

That's why doing it in conjunction with some kind of therapeutic alliance is so important. Someone meeds to be there for you to talk to about that and help keep you monitored during the period when you're able to act but can't yet see why you shouldn't, that the feeling is not forever.

I have funny reactions to certain meds. However, I would not make generalizations because everyone responds differently to meds.

I have a possible seizure disorder and Wellbutrin kinda brought that out.
Seizures are a possible side effect...but I would never make a generalization about any type of med....

the increased power he think he has, lets please not let him have it.

I took Wellbutrin for a while and it was very good for me. We all react differently but this asshole should never be allowed to talk about medical issues until he can prove he has a degree in pharmacy med (or whatever the call it these days) or was educated as a medical person with a pharmaceutical specialty.

The loons have been let loose.
