(19,253 posts)You don't become a billionaire with global industries under your belt without extensive knowledge about logistics, supply chains and international cooperation with foreign governments. He has an army of lawyers and executives who's entire lives are devoted to stuff like this.

(6,446 posts)it's a systems problem. A shit-ton of money might help, but only if we rework the systems from the ground up, so to speak. We Americans waste up to 40% of our food. It goes all the way from farm to supermarket to restaurant to household. There have been some excellent recovery efforts, but not nearly enough. It's a huge, multi-level, global scale problem... which you would think we would have devoted real serious energy towards solving. And the changes in our climate do not bode well for some areas on this orb...
