10. 2013 was also the year of the famous filibuster in Texas.

The day after, there were organized women marching and protesting across America. Many of which had been up all night organizing those protests, state by state.

In one walk, Ruby Bridges created a model of dignity for us all. In that one moment she embodied more strength than any one old misogynistic man could ever imagine. She paved the way for all of us. We owe our predecessors everything.

Gives me goosebumps. And you are so right. We're never going back. My generation fought hard to get where we are today, and we're not going backwards. We now have too many brilliant, strong women in positions of power and gaining more every day. That's what I want my little granddaughter to see.
