Politico: “A bipartisan super-majority of senators voted late Wednesday to endorse a Republican-led measure stating that any nuclear agreement with Tehran should also address Iran’s support for terrorism in the region, and that the U.S. should not lift sanctions on an elite branch of the Iranian military, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”

to paraphrase Tip O'Neill's "all politics is local"...the 2022 midterms "all politics is domestic"..abortion, the economy, race, gender, the insurrection... all "local"... as for Biden's foreign agenda...nothing until the Russia/Ukraine War is decided..and we have a greater majority in to Senate and House..

The whole idea of the nuclear treaty with Iran (which, by the way, included our European allies, who would up getting shafted by the caprices of the former guy) was to provide Iran a way to get rid of its waste from nuclear power plants, by handing it off to the U.S. and the other signatories to the treaty. When the former guy unilaterally made it a dead letter, Iran had nowhere to put that waste. Which meant that Iran was in violation of other treaties (I'd guess the nuclear non-proliferation treaty) which forbade it from stockpiling material that could be refined and used to make a nuclear weapon. Iran is in a damned-if-you-do/damned-if-you-don't situation.

By mixing in all these other issues to kill the deal, the Senate is in essence forcing Iran down a path that could result in its becoming a nuclear power.

Our sixty year history of dealing with Iran is a litany of stupidity and shortsighted politics. If we had some leaders with foresight and guts, we could have had Iran as an ally , or at least not an enemy, for the last several decades.
