Sad, mad, and hopeful all at once

Sad, because my 13 year old grandniece posted a meme that said "Keep your laws off my body"

Mad, because I had a t-shirt with that same slogan 50 years ago. I had to tell her I was sorry that her generation is apparently going to have to fight the same battles we all did. She's also very worried because she has two moms & she's heard the speculation that the Reichwing will be coming for same sex marriages.

Hopeful because when I asked her how you fight the bastards she told me "Pay attention and stay involved."

1. Tell her to tell everyone she knows to VOTE!!!

I was on TV since a reporter at the rally I attended liked my sign (which they didn't even show). I spoke about how this is the tip of the iceberg, etc but they cut most of what I said. What they did show was me saying I was energized, angry and we all must VOTE! I'm glad they kept that part. The speakers at the rally (in a blue city and state) told us to tell all of our family, friends, co-workers, etc to get to the ballot box every damn election. I know I am preaching to the choir here but we have to do this, especially with younger voters.
