It was patrolling near Snake Island providing air defense. It is quite clear russia lost air defense over Snake Island this week.

2. OK, here's my conspiracy theory

...which is worth about the same as any other conspiracy theory; zilch without evidence. That ship has been sunk, but there is a coordinated effort being made to keep it out of the news until after Putin makes his "victory speech" in Moscow, which happens tomorrow I believe. If Putin has to publicly admit that Russia has lost another one of their most valuable warships in the glare of this weekend's "celebration" it could push him to do something even more reckless with his war in order to compensate
