(54,409 posts)Count on there being such a law passed in the Senate within weeks. Biden will veto it, of course, but they will use every method, legal or otherwise, to get a Republican in the White House in 2024, and have it signed into law within a week of Inauguration Day, 2025.
Don't doubt it. They do know how to play the long game. Roberts and Alito were surely briefed (in private, with the mikes off) about Citizens United before their names were ever sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee. They were confirmed within a few months of each other in late 2005/2006. Citizens United was confirmed as legal in 2010 by the Roberts Court, after Cheney (dba Bush Lite) wasn't even in the White House any more, but the planning for it being upheld had already begun five years earlier.
Expect them to have a similar battle plan on eliminating abortion rights.
