One Republican came out.

A fiscal Republican. What he posted on Facebook might give us some ideas on how to reach out to others like him. And I mean, we need media help with this one.

I posted this response on another thread:

The old high school friend replied to a post my liberal friend put on her Facebook page. He told us the things he supported, and lo and behold, he was completely pro-choice. Completely in line with Liberal beliefs. And then he ends with, "I am just Republican because I am fiscally conservative."

Of course, she appealed to his sense of responsibility and told him he needed to vote accordingly.

Point is, it's time someone analyzes how true fiscal conservatives have been taken. The hard right, like McConnell, know that budgets are a keen way to destroy social programs. It's easy to tell a fiscal conservative voter that they're knocking out 40% of the Democrat's budget, but do those voters actually know what programs are being destroyed?

Of course, the hard right also serve up their targeted budget cuts with a side of slanderous misinformation about the programs. So, Dems, with the help of the media, need to do a better job of talking up their programs. And especially, show where the hard right is disparaging good programs.

on things they like - like border walls and monitoring abortions. It's just a code word for hating social programs that help the disadvantaged and the environment..

They love the "live and let live" motto, but when you tax them, their inner facist comes out. God forbid one penny of theirs (and most likley acquired through inheritance or on the backs of others) goes to help someone.

When you vote in favor of something, it also means you’re voting against something else. So, if he’s truly socially liberal we need him to vote his conscious over his pocketbook.

we (liberals) still cannot get the message across that deficit and fiscally irresponsible policies always happen under the republicans while the next democratic president in office has to clean it up. The data is there for anybody to see, yet people still think the GOP is better for the economy.
I guess this reflects how much the media is controlled and/or obsessed by the GOP talking points.
