Every time I see a production like this, and think 'damn that's so true, and well done', I wonder if anyone else sees it outside of places like DU.
I never see anything like that on TV.

As the post below says, they all think it is about someone ELSE, not THEM.

(19,204 posts)Too many Americans say, "It can't happen here", or they ignore it altogether.
"I'm not going to have an abortion, why should I care"?
"There aren't that many white supremacists, why should I care"?
"Trump is an aberration, why should I care"?
"I'm not a racist. I obey the law. Police don't really single out minorities and treat them differently, why should I care"?
"I'm too busy to pay attention to politics in this country. Both parties are the same anyway, why should I vote "?
You get the picture. Apathy will be the ruination of democracy. When republicans are doing everything in their power to turn our country into a fascist, theological dictatorship, saying "why should I care" is the quickest way to let them have it.

(36,829 posts)Those millions of republicans want an authoritarian gov't but they mistakenly think they will be the few thousand elites actually in charge.
Those millions are useful tools for those who will actually be in charge.
One poster called it a 'new social feudalism age'.

(8,756 posts)The messaging has been handed to us on a platter. I hope we run with it. Jamie, the DNC chair, had a great point and gave me hope. He said, Do you remember a single Super Bowl add? They have the message, but the money to spread it is limited, and needs to be spent nearer to elections. They have been putting it all together. And after 1/6 committee national airing of findings, it will be the time to slam all media with this type of add. I gotta hold on to that belief, or I will drive myself insane with hate and anger and despair. Evil is primed to take the country, with blood if it can. Pro life MFRs. With unlimited cash to spread Putinistic bull shit. If the oligarchs would just pay their share of taxes, I think it would be cheaper than buying politicians. But they crave the absolute power, Putin style. We are approaching the battle of our and all generations behind us. We will need the soul and courage of Ukrainians.
And Happy Mothers Day, and lets fight for their rights and freedoms. I will shed blood if needed, as will most fathers of daughters.

(17,931 posts)Every network. Interspersed with the face of every single Rethuglican congress critter. Every Rethuglican senator. And every Republican congressional challenger. Every single freaking one of them. All districts. All states. I'm more than willing to chip in some funds to do it.
They are the party of hate. They are the party of nazis. They are the party of racists. They are the party that hates women. They are the party of less rights. They are evil. Quit screwing around and call them what they are. MSM be damned.

What it reminded me of was one of the Agenda Project's ads. I had posted about it in another thread as an example of an ad that really bulldozed right to the point and was powerful enough to put them on the defensive (which is rare since they are masters at dishing it out). I.e., this one from 2014 -
Agenda Project had been known for their "Granny off the Cliff" ad describing Paul Ryan's intention to privatize Medicare -
At this point, what James put together is as stark (and later ones could even go further), that needs to be done, and shown all summer long...every damn where.
