If you lie on your resume to get a job, you get fired. Sometimes there is legal action as well But if you lie to Congress and the American people to get appointed to SCOTUS, you get to decide what Americans can do with their bodies, who they can marry, and who gets civil rights

(2,580 posts)This is exactly what would have happened to me, throughout my working years. Why do these a$$holes get a pass, and why are people in high government positions exempt from the laws that the rest of us have to obey? If they are not held to any basic standards, then we desperately need to change our laws. I can also say that Jim Wright's blog, Stonekettle Station, and his Facebook page are excellent reading. Highly recommend!

(296 posts)pretty much job interviews, no one nowhere would ever get hired acting like he did in that hearing. Screaming, asking stupid questions of the Senators, saying how much he likes beer. He couldn't get a job at McDonalds acting like that. But the Repubs pushed him through.
Behaving like Boofer Boy at a job interview would result in quickly being escorted from the premises by security. And the application marked as Not Hireable.
