You Are HERE, Republicans ...

... and I can't imagine a worse place to be.

Your party members are being exposed as liars and hypocrites who publicly supported Trump, while privately acknowledging his responsibility for inciting an insurrection, along with the fact that he was unfit for office.

We now know that Trump - "Let's attack Mexico and just pretend it wasn't us" - was even more unhinged than previously known, and that the Republican party continued to support him in the face of that knowledge.

We've all seen Trump's rallies getting smaller, as he continues to rant about impossible-to-flush toilets - while endorsing political candidates his own supporters hate.

The January 6 Committee is about to make their findings public, and many of your colleagues are about to be exposed as willing participants in an attempt to overthrow the US government.

Not all Republican voters are Trump-humpers, and some of them (dare I say many of them) will not take kindly to having their democracy threatened by liars-and-hypocrites (please see above) whose only interest was retaining their own power - American democracy be damned.

And then there's this: The GOP's hand-picked SCOTUS justices are about to overturn Roe v Wade, a decision that the majority of the populace want left in place. And the fact that the "justices" who are voting in favour of doing so all perjured themselves during their confirmation hearings is as blatantly obvious to R voters as it is to D voters.

While the Republicans rail against "the leak" rather than the issue at hand - the taking away of a woman's dominion over her own body - it is apparent that real issues are of no interest to the GOP.

Soundbytes only go so far. Eventually reality rears it's ugly head - and reality is about to kick the butts of Republicans who mistakenly believe that their own constituents are too stupid to recognize that the rights of their wives, their daughters, and the victims of rape and incest should be sacrificed on the altar of the party of madmen.

You are HERE, Republicans - that place where human decency ends, that place where your only hope of retaining power is convincing the idiots who still support you that idiocy equals patriotism.

Good luck with that.

I always fear that there are too many brain addled voters that don’t vote using any kind of logic. They simply hear what their leaders tell them and vote that way automatically without any consideration for the consequences.

Not as I read their testimony. None went so far as to say they would uphold Roe, - and indeed, it would be improper for them to do so. What Kavanaugh said was Roe was 'settled as an important precent', not that he would be unable find persuasive argument to overturn it.

Only a tiny number are going to figure out or admit their mistake. Anyone who voted for Trump in 2016 or 2020 is damned to an eternity of being politically stupid and evil.

Our salvation is getting the non-voters to wake up, overcome any obstacles put in their way and get them to vote in EVERY election.

Who cares about any of that and isn't wanting Trump to be their nominee in the next Presidential election? I don't. You're preaching to the choir, not republicans. Most aren't Trump humpers, they're anti Democratic voters no matter what.

I'm in rural Oregon. Kate Brown is gone this election cycle. We could easily end up with a republican governor, and Oregon is down the shitter.

has 'those' types of neighbors. A great many of them outwardly appear normal. But, when you're out and about you will sometimes hear two or more of them talking about "the libs" or some shit like that in one form or another. The few that get it are the old-school republicans. The George Will types where conservatism means you always wear a suit and tie and never act like you're actually enjoying anything too much. Then you have TFG types. The rally goers. They are still so enamored with 'owning the libs' that nothing much else matters. They're so bent that TFG could go to any one of their homes, shoot the wife, rape the daughters, burn the house down, demand all of their money from the husband, take the truck (and the dog) and they'd still vote for him while praising him as a real man.

That's what we're up against.

Whatever they decide will be so entrenched after a few decades that those decisions will never be reversed. After all, no decision that's stood for decades will ever be reversed. Stare decisis and all that, haha.

On the other hand, Thomas and Alito are getting a bit long-in-the-tooth...
