Their use against stationary land targets is interesting. One more sign that Russia is running very low on modern weapons

Yeah, the blithering buzzle butt said a couple things about genius, or very smart, or some such - but that's just the anus doing his usual word salad diarrhea. I'll maintain that actual praise for the Ukraine fiasco is very thin on the ground. GOP, Q or anyplace else.

for the time being.

But if the KGOP gets the upper hand again, they will again fall to their lingerie-clad knees with their grifting paws outstretched beseeching russian blessings and bennies.

Russians and the radical right-wing Republicans are cut from the same fascist cloth.

The House vote for military lend-lease bill to speed Ukraine aid was passed 417-10
I don't think 10 votes counts as most of the GOP.

3. Are you sure that these are the new hypersonic missiles?

What I'm finding online is that the Onyx/Oniks is a supersonic missile that entered service about 20 years ago.

6. I think the Onyx is Supersonic. The max speed is Mach 3.

Unless their slower cruise missiles are being shot out of the sky, all these accomplish is reduce the time between launch and detonation.

Will be interesting to see how RU supplies hold up and how quickly they can replenish. It would be surprising if their manufacturing can scale to a war footing given technical, logistic and sanctions posed challenges. And with much of the West willing to endlessly back and supply Ukraine, the shear weight of the ability to out produce Russia could be a deciding factor.

The P-800 Oniks, NATO designation SS-N-26 Strobile, is a supersonic (mach 2.6 +/-) ramjet powered cruise missile. It is a fire and forget (self guiding) weapon for use against both land and sea targets. It is considered to be a precision weapon and quite accurate.

Design began in 1983 and the missile has been operational since 2002.

Except for minor differences they are all in agreement and do not match "new" or "hypersonic". Given the purported accuracy of a CEP of 1.5 meters it is likely they are not cheap. Our Tomahawk missiles are running about $2M each these days but Russia doesn't advertise cost as far as I can see.

It was first deployed in 2002. It is a Ramjet - and would still cost a bomb

Not hypersonic, but a supersonic ramjet design.

The P-800 Oniks (Russian: П-800 Оникс; English: Onyx), also known in export markets as Yakhont (Russian: Яхонт; English: ruby), is a Soviet / Russian supersonic anti-ship cruise missile developed by NPO Mashinostroyeniya as a ramjet version of P-80 Zubr. Its GRAU designation is 3M55, the air launched Kh-61 variant also exists. The missile has the NATO codename SS-N-26 "Strobile". Development officially started in 1983, and in the 1990s the anti-ship missile was tested on the Project 1234.7 ship. In 2002 the missile passed the whole range of trials and was commissioned.[5] It is reportedly a replacement for the P-270 Moskit, and possibly also of the P-700 Granit.
