After Roe decision, Idaho lawmakers may consider restricting some contraception

As Idahoans plan for a future without abortion rights, a leading Republican in the Idaho House would support holding hearings on legislation banning abortion pills and morning-after pills.

House State Affairs Committee Chairman Brent Crane, R-Nampa, said he would hold hearings on legislation banning emergency contraception and abortion pills during a Friday interview with Idaho Public Television.

“IUDs, I’m not for certain yet on where I would be on that particular issue,” he said, referring to intrauterine devices, which are a long-lasting form of contraception.

In a Saturday interview, Crane clarified that he supports contraception, including IUDs, and would not support hearings banning contraception generally. Instead, he said that he has heard of safety concerns with emergency contraceptives, like Plan B, and abortion pills, and would therefore be willing to hold hearings about them.

11. Only the top half is close to Washington

Idaho borders six states.

Washington - no problem. Anyone north of Plummer will probably go to Spokane. From Plummer to about halfway between Moscow and Lewiston, Pullman is your destination. And from there to Grangeville, you’re better off heading to Clarkston.

Oregon: People living in that area are kinda screwn. There is a long road from most of those towns to Ontario, which is the only city of any size - and one of the few Oregon towns at all - on the eastern side of the state.

Nevada: Another low-likelihood-of-success state simply because there’s fucking nothing out there. The closest Nevada town to Idaho is Jackpot, which doesn’t even have a grocery store. (What it has are casinos. They built this town so South Idahoans could gamble.)

Utah, Wyoming and Montana: forget it, dude - they’re just as likely to ban contraception as Idaho is. The people who live in the part where Montana borders Idaho would be better off driving to Washington.

In short, if they do this it’ll be a disaster for the vast majority of Idaho’s population.

3. That's the "reasoning" behind banning Plan B and IUDs

Even though they aren’t. Who cares about science, it’s all about “sincerely held belief.”
I predict a huge rush of women getting their tubes tied until the RWNJs find a “reason” (enduring the domestic supply of infants?) to ban that too.

6. They've been preaching that already for decades.

There are people who believe that ordinary daily birth control pills work by causing an abortion every month. Seriously. Some of the people who believe that are lawmakers.

10. You know, none of it even makes sense anymore

They don't want women to have birth control or abortions, which means a whole hell of a lot more low-income children who will have to be on public support. You know damn well they don't want to support them. None of it makes any sort of logical sense.

EXCEPT if you look at everything they do with the understanding that they just want to screw people under their thumbs because they can. Because they hate. Because they're high on power. They are sociopaths.

It's the politics of hate and revenge. Screw your enemy in every way you can with no thought to consequences. Because face it, there have been no consequences. These assholes are elected in gerrymandered districts with financing from corrupt corporations and never face any fallout. they have been able to get away with this shit because no one can stop them, not even the SCTOUS anymore, because that's been hijacked since McConnell fucked with it in 2016.

They're sociopathic. They're feral. They're rabid.

8. If the tables were turned. The 'Pukes would have over half the electorate

convinced by Friday this week, that "all Democrats" want to ban "all contraception". I don't expect Democratic leadership to take this path. Since they they somehow have convinced themselves that Trump 'Pukes are somehow separate or worse than your average fascist. Or that this is some recent development and they were somehow decent human beings before Trump. It's bullshit and a loosing strategy. These goat fuckers all need to get painted with the same broad brush. Just like they've done to us so successfully. And when the media gets their undies all in a twist about "Why are you so mean to these fascists?". Tell them to fuck off. Just like these ghouls have managed to do.

How about the safety concerns of 9 months of pregnancy and going through labor?
