For years, they have talked about how violent blacks and liberals are. All the while lynching those few who showed a faith that Jesus would have recognized.
Antifa is just a new term in the long and violent terrorism that has made putting a liberal bumper sticker on your car an actual sign of bravery.
Manson and every other violent bastard has tried to blame the oppressed and start violence against them. Book burning, blackballing, censorship, and ruining careers is not a new tactic, but as long as the stamp on it said, "Conservative," the terrorism and silencing of voices was just fine and dandy.
The conservative agent taking actions to make it look like the oppressed committed crimes has become so obvious a thing that anyone paying attention now suspects that before believing the message on the wall.
So now conservatives are being faced with a society that they have been pushing for years. Instead of backing off and realizing they need to restrain their side before our side is going to listen, they are putting new energy into their screed of hate.
Meanwhile, a lot of us who believe in peace and living in a nation of laws have noticed that we can't possibly afford the deductible if something medical happens. A lot of us have stopped imagining Andy of Mayberry when we think of police.
A lot of us who would have thought about Alito's family a few short years ago are thinking of the thousands of coat hangers about to be repurposed.
Right now, if I were in charge, I would not hire a Republican, however qualified, for a medical position. I would not hire a Republican, no matter how qualified for an administrative or financial position. I would choose to go out of business first since I could predict and control the losses. I would reduce the size of my operation first. Why would I hire a person that wouldn't wear a mask to save others, vote to protect the rights of women and minorities, or be able to tell right from wrong in the simplest of situations.
So the old school requirement in business of a happy family and a nice church membership is now turned around. It was veiled racism and religious discrimination anyway.
Republicans, enjoy the mirror.

(22,075 posts)And totally agree.
You may want to add the word, "not," to your first sentence though......"Jesus would have recognized."

(2,218 posts)The white people who were killed because they supported blacks in dangerous areas, were people who were putting others first. Their philosophy was at the very least similar to the philosophy produced by a middle eastern Jew who we call Jesus.
Others first, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, treat the least of these as you would treat me, that sort of thing. I personally believe that Jesus existed since he is quoted saying a lot of things that the powerful, wealthy and ostensibly holy would not have appreciated much.

Those doing the "lynching" are Republicans. The ones targeted for "lynching" are "those few who showed a faith that Jesus would have recognized."
Does it make more sense now?

(1,850 posts)That popped into my head after reading this post, invoking images from childhood.
Fairest has two meanings here.
Fair as in lovely to look at...some may be, but they're ugly inside.
Fair as in just, not at all.
Most don't see what's obvious. If they see what's reflected in the mirror, some may revise their rhetoric but most will just admire their ugly reflection.

Something I had to come to grips with. My logical brain fought the part that wanted something to hang onto. I still know many good people who still follow. But the last 5 years of hate, rage, domination to control have convinced me. The pus has exploded all over us!

(5,842 posts)We know there is no low too low for them. They feel emboldened because they now know with absolute certainty that this corrupt SCTOUS will back them no matter what rights they strip from people, especially women. You see it in governors of red states talking about banning contraceptives.
No, they're not scared. They are emboldened.
The question is: what does overstepping look like? We keep saying THIS TIME they overstepped, THIS TIME they overreached. Then they go even farther. When will it be enough for real change to happen? When will it be enough so that WE are emboldened?

(2,218 posts)I absolutely respect your view, but I think that when they are emboldened, it is all about fear.
They think being brave is going to a grocery store with an automatic weapon. While driven by constant fear, eventually it peaks and then we see the behavior they showed when they invaded the capitol.
Behind their bullet proof vests and machine guns is a child who grew up in constant fear. Pity the child, don't ever let the adult be in control of anything.

(5,842 posts)They are deathly afraid of the browning of America; they are definitely afraid of smart and powerful women.
However, they are emboldened because they see that a door has been swung wide open. And because they have quite a bit of power, they will punish the rest of us.
